Online Continuing Education Conference

FAQs

Q: Will MSHA Cancel The 2020 Conference Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19)?

A: The MSHA 2020 Online Conference “Catching Up and Connecting” is being held from May 18-30, 2020 at www.msha-online.org/.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, including advisories from the CDC and White House to avoid gatherings of 10 or more as well as the temporary closing of our 2020 Conference venue, it became necessary for the MSHA Executive Board to consider alternatives to hosting the upcoming conference on April 6th – 8th at the Beau Rivage.

After much deliberation, the Board voted to transition our 2020 MSHA Conference activities to an online platform.

The MSHA conference has now moved ONLINE at www.msha-online.org from May 18 – May 30, 2020. Please register (either for Pre-Conference, Main Conference or Full Conference). Once you register, you will receive an email from a Conference Committee member with a promo code to access the online conference sessions. If you do not receive a promo code within 24 hours, please check your SPAM folder or email conference@mshausa.org to obtain the access instructions.

Q: Will the Online Conference Agenda be the Same as the Face-to-Face Agenda?

A: 4/7/20: See the MSHA website for updated Online Conference speaker abstracts! Due to the ability to access courses at your leisure over TWO WEEKS via the online platform, you can create your OWN agenda!  Learn more at www.msha-online.org.

Q: Will I still be able to earn 1.6 ASHA CEUs through the Online Conference?

A: 4/7/20: Due to the ability to access courses at your leisure via the online platform, registrants have the opportunity to earn up to 4.95 ASHA CEUs for the Full Conference (main + pre-conference) and a maximum of 4.35 ASHA CEUs for the Main Conference.

Q: How Will MSHA Handle 2020 Conference Cancellation Requests?

A:  4/7/20: If you were registered for the 2020 MSHA Conference in Biloxi, you should have received an e-mail detailing your options for cancelling your registration OR transferring your registration to the online conference. As stated in the email, if no response was received by March 29th, your current registration was transferred to the online conference.

**If you have made hotel reservations at the Beau Rivage - the hotel rooms have already been cancelled you will receive the refund on your credit card.

**If you made a hotel reservation at a separate hotel, you will be responsible for cancelling those. Please contact your hotel as soon as possible.

Q: Can I get a refund for my 2020 MSHA Conference registration?

A: 4/7/20: As stated in the email that went out to all conference registrants, the cancellation deadline was generously extended, and cancellations for a full refund were accepted through March 29th. After that date, all registration fees were transferred to the online conference.

Please note that all registrations for the MSHA Online Conference are non-refundable.
